Every Saturday from March - November, the city of Augusta allows local vendors and small businesses to set up booths at The Augusta Market. This is an exciting opportunity that helps Augusta entrepreneurs, as well as patrons, experience the advantages of living in the Garden City!
There are rows of tents set up with vendors selling local farm fresh produce, fresh-cut flowers and plants for the garden, cuisine, artisans and so much more! I've even seen a free yoga classes offered by the local Kroc Center! This weekly event has become a sort of a mini-festival and truly brings out a sense of community to Augusta.
The market offers something for everyone to do. Kids really love playing in the fountain (weather permitting) and loving on all of the rescue dogs. Adult enjoy the sounds of live music filling the air
and the beautiful scenery as they stroll along the Savannah River,

Although we only went twice last year, I am going to try my hardest to plan for us to go once a month. Instead of us always spending our money in other cities, we need to make an effort to invest in our local community. The Augusta Market is a fun and inexpensive family outing and I am excited to see it grow. So if you are ever visiting in the area or just passing through, give the market a try and see it for yourself.
WHAT: Augusta Market at the River
WHEN: 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays
WHERE: Eighth Street Plaza off Reynolds Street
Have you ever been to The Augusta Market? Does your city offer something similar to The Augusta Market?

That sounds awesome! My sister works in Augusta, so maybe I'll be able to make it down there one Saturday to enjoy the market.

ReplyDeleteAntionette, it took me a while a to appreciate all that Augusta has and its natural beauties. I was so used to living in a major city (Atlanta) and visiting the main attractions. I am so glad I took the time out to enjoy the local events my city has to offer. Thank you for reading!
